Church of San Giorgio

Church of San Giorgio

Latitudine: 45.657495

Longitudine: 9.925939

This church stands in what is now an industrial estate, not far from the town. The presence of an Annunciation dating back to before the 11th century indicates the likely origins of this sacred building. The wealth and value of the church are linked to its interior decoration, done by Lorenzo Lotto (1525) who signed and dated the cycle situated in the presbytery area: the God in Glory in the vault and the Nativity and Saints on the walls (St. Stephen, St. George, St. Bartholomew and St. Catherine are all recognisable).
