The ice house at Regona

The ice house at Regona

In the countryside, just a short distance from the enclosed rural village, we can still see ice houses with their unusual outlines. They were built in brick with circular floor plans and ogive coverings, and went as deep as 4 metres into the ground. In winter they were filled with snow, ready to be used for storing food during the summer months. The best preserved today are those in Scorzarolo and in Regona, a hamlet of Seniga.
