Castle of Padernello

The residential area is very close to the Martinengo family’s castle. In good condition and quite lively in terms of culture, it houses an important Foundation. Built in brick in 1485 by Bernardino Martinengo, it stands today, in all its magnificence, still surrounded by its moat. It is characterised by trapdoors, towers and a keep. It was never a defensive fortress, but was used as a noble residence. It was restructured and refurbished in the eighteenth century by Marchetti, and nearby there is an interesting gothic farmhouse and the village.
