Church of San Fermo
Latitudine: 45.652823
Longitudine: 9.929967
On the old communication route that runs alongside the River Oglio, from Credaro to Calepio, but which has now been demoted to a secondary role in the road network, we encounter the splendid church of San Fermo. The building dates back to the early 11th century but has undergone numerous alterations over the years. Outside, the façade is characterised by the imposing bell-tower; at around 16 metres tall, it is a rare example of a bell-tower façade. Several graves discovered close to the entrance indicate that the church was probably a place of worship and graveyard for Credaro’s first community.
