This castle belonged to the Martinengo family. Construction began in 1370 and in the 1500s the family turned the castle into a lively cultural centre. It stands in the central square of the small village, with cylindrical towers and the old moat that has now been turned into lawns. Probably built over earlier buildings, it witnessed crimes and passions of great importance. Marcantonio Martinengo who distinguished himself in the famous battle of Lepanto once lived here. Documents tell of pictorial works done in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by the Campi brothers.
