Palazzo Fenaroli

Latitudine: 45.241527

Longitudine: 10.178359

Now privately owned and not open to the public, this villa was once a defensive structure close to the River Oglio. All that remains of the pre-existing castle are the ancient towers. Built in 1678 for the powerful Poncarali family, one of the oldest in Brescia; the complex is made up of various buildings. The entrance portal, with its Ionic stucco columns and balustrade, looks out over the town and is actually to the rear of the villa which can just be glimpsed, framed by the greenery of the river bank. We can enjoy a wonderful view of the garden, with its terraces leading down to the river, first there are two branches punctuated by a small Italian style hanging garden and then a single ramp flanked by statues of rural gods. It is one of the few examples of its kind in the province of Brescia. The complex also includes a large, attractive rural court.
