Public park

Tourists will certainly find the beautiful public park of great interest, with its characteristic small neo-Gothic style building known locally as Oselanda. The original purpose of the building is not known, but it was definitely used as a home in the twentieth century. It was then bought by the council who completed its restoration in 2001. This neo-Gothic style building is surrounded by a large children’s playground, as well as a permanent exhibition of stone sculptures, called the “Viale dei volti” or Avenue of Faces, which is only a part of a number of sculptures dotted around the town. These works are the result of various editions of “Sculpting in the square”. The grey sandstone, commonly known as the Stone of Sarnico, has always been extracted in Paratico too, and is used throughout the surrounding area.
