The Roman bridge

The Roman bridge

Latitudine: 45.598117

Longitudine: 9.881715

Here there is a well-preserved bridge, still in use, which was certainly built by the Romans and dates back to between the 4th and 5th centuries AD; although it must be said that over time there have been many modifications, both voluntary and otherwise. The Roman bridge still links Palazzolo to Mura, which was once a separate settlement, with its own fortifications, up until the 12th century. The unified mediaeval town was later incorporated into the Republic of Venice in 1428.
